Savages
ActionCrimeDramaThriller131 min
Ben and Chon run a lucrative marijuana business out of Laguna Beach until the Baja cartel kidnaps the woman they both love and turns their California operation into a cross-border fight. Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Taylor-Johnson are the uneasy pair at the center: Chon, a former Navy SEAL, and Ben, his more measured partner. Blake Lively’s O narrates from inside the relationship that binds them, while Benicio Del Toro and Salma Hayek hover on the cartel side of the standoff. Oliver Stone frames the clash between Southern California wealth, cartel power, and the pressure closing in from law enforcement.
