In a sprawling Western theme park, wealthy guests pay to live out outlaw fantasies among lifelike android hosts who are built to obey, die, and reset by morning. The park’s careful illusion begins to fray as some hosts retain fragments of past storylines, and small glitches turn into signs of awakening. While engineers and executives scramble to contain the damage, a rancher’s daughter starts to see the world around her differently, and a long-running gunslinger grows dangerously unpredictable. As the hosts push against the roles written for them, the people who run Westworld face a crisis that threatens both the business and the order it depends on.
