El Dorado
DramaRomanceWestern126 min
Gunfighter Cole Thornton rides into a ranch war and finds his old friend, Sheriff J.P. Harrah, barely holding the town together. John Wayne is Thornton, a seasoned hired gun, while Robert Mitchum's Harrah is a lawman battling the bottle as a powerful rancher tries to steal a family's water. James Caan joins them as a young fighter, and Howard Hawks directs the standoff with plenty of time in saloons, jail cells, and on horseback. Thornton, Harrah, a fighter, and a gambler end up standing between a ranching family and a takeover.
