Sunny Suljic is Stevie, a 13-year-old in 1990s Los Angeles who spends one summer pulled between a troubled home life and the older skaters he meets at a local shop. As he starts tagging along, his days revolve around street sessions, aimless hangouts, and the shifting rules of a group he wants badly to belong to. Jonah Hill's film stays close to Stevie's point of view as childhood starts giving way to a rougher, more performative version of being a teen. Katherine Waterston and Lucas Hedges are part of the cast around him.
