Stealing Beauty

DramaMysteryRomance118 min

After her mother’s death, American teenager Lucy Harmon arrives at a villa in the Tuscan countryside, where a family friend plans to sculpt her and memories from an earlier visit begin to resurface. Liv Tyler is Lucy, returning to the estate she knew four years before and hoping to find the Italian boy she once kissed. Bernardo Bertolucci frames the house as a gathering place for artists, old friends, and uneasy intimacies, with Joseph Fiennes and Jeremy Irons among the adults circling Lucy’s summer. The setting is lush and secluded, but Lucy’s stay is shaped as much by what she’s come to learn as by who’s waiting there.
