Kate Bosworth's Jessie and Thomas Jane's Mark are still mourning their son when they welcome foster child Cody into their home. Jacob Tremblay is Cody, a quiet boy whose dreams materialize as he sleeps, bringing butterflies and longed-for visions one night and something far darker the next.
