The shock causes his pregnant wife to miscarry, and she fixes on Claire Bartel, one of the women who spoke out against him. Posing as a nanny, she enters Claire’s home and makes herself indispensable to the family while quietly turning the house against its mistress. Small acts of care become tools of control as trust shifts, routines are disrupted, and Claire finds her grip on her children, her husband, and her own credibility slipping.
