Mary and Max

AnimationComedyDrama92 min

An eight-year-old girl in suburban Melbourne strikes up a correspondence with Max, a 44-year-old man in New York, and their letters grow into an unlikely friendship across continents. Mary writes from a lonely childhood; Max answers from a life shaped by isolation, chocolate, and carefully held routines. Adam Elliot’s stop-motion animation gives both cities a handmade, slightly worn look, with Barry Humphries narrating and voices from Toni Collette and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
