Cherry

CrimeDrama142 min

Tom Holland is Cherry, an Ohio college dropout who enlists as an Army medic after falling hard for Emily, the one stable thing in his life. Ciara Bravo gives Emily a steady presence as Cherry is sent to Iraq and returns home carrying PTSD he can't name or manage. What follows is a slide from pills to heroin and, eventually, a string of bank robberies as debt and addiction close in. The film tracks Cherry through war, homecoming, and a life coming apart, with much of its focus fixed on the bond between him and Emily.
