A chance encounter in Manhattan pulls aspiring writer Brian (Anton Yelchin) into an affair with Arielle, a glamorous French woman whose marriage comes with strict rules: any outside romance is confined to the hours between 5 and 7. As Brian falls harder, Bérénice Marlohe's Arielle remains tied to a world of polished dinners, diplomatic formality, and an arrangement her husband Valéry (Lambert Wilson) treats as ordinary. Frank Langella and Glenn Close appear as Brian's parents, grounding the story in the gap between youthful infatuation and the more negotiated terms of adult love.
