The Hate U Give

CrimeDrama133 min

Sixteen-year-old Starr Carter moves between two worlds: the Black neighborhood where she lives and the suburban prep school she attends. After she witnesses a police officer shoot her unarmed childhood friend, that balance collapses, and Starr is pushed into the center of a case that reaches her school, her community, and her home. Amandla Stenberg is Starr, trying to hold onto her voice while every side demands something from her. Regina Hall and Russell Hornsby are her parents, watching their daughter face public attention, private grief, and the widening divide between the life she comes from and the one she moves through every day.
