DramaRomanceWar111 min
On the eve of World War I, Lillie leaves the United States for a remote medical mission in the Ottoman Empire, expecting to assist Dr. Jude and finding herself in the middle of political tension and divided loyalties. Hera Hilmar leads opposite Michiel Huisman as Lillie clashes with Jude and the mission’s founder, Woodruff, while a romance with an Ottoman lieutenant complicates the work around her. Josh Hartnett and Ben Kingsley fill out the central quartet as the hospital becomes a crossroads for foreigners, soldiers, and a region moving toward war.
