Howard Stern is himself in this autobiographical account of his rise from a radio-obsessed kid to one of New York’s most notorious on-air personalities. As he bounces through small stations and larger markets, his act gets louder, cruder, and more confrontational, drawing both devoted listeners and furious bosses. Mary McCormack is Alison, the wife who stays alongside him as the career and the controversy grow. The film tracks Stern’s early ambition, his move through Washington, D.C. radio, and the partnership he forms with Robin Quivers before a jump to New York brings him into open conflict with network executives.
