In Hawaii, a special major-crimes task force answers directly to the governor, taking on cases that cut across normal police lines. Steve McGarrett leads the unit, with Danny Williams pushing back as often as he backs him up, and each investigation pulls them into murders, kidnappings, robberies, and threats tied to organized crime. The team works beaches, back roads, and Honolulu streets, chasing suspects through a setting that can turn from postcard calm to active crime scene in a moment. As cases stack up, the unit has to balance big-picture takedowns with the personal friction and split-second decisions that come with operating outside the usual chain of command.
