After a family tragedy is narrowly avoided, a corrupt detective in Leeds decides to clean up the damage from 20 years on the take. Leila Farzad is the officer at the center of it, trying to pull herself free of bribery, favors, and old loyalties without blowing apart the life built around them. The deepest tie runs through Andrew Buchan’s gangster counterpart, whose long arrangement with her has shaped both their worlds. As she starts to untangle the deal between police and organized crime, every move toward conscience carries a cost at work, at home, and with the people who know exactly what she’s done.
