A flu pandemic collapses society almost overnight, scattering survivors into a changed world where old institutions are gone and small communities make their own rules. Twenty years later, Kirsten travels with a troupe of actors and musicians, performing Shakespeare for settlements across the Great Lakes region. Their circuit is interrupted when they encounter a violent prophet whose growing influence connects to events from the first days of the outbreak. As the series moves between the fall of the old world and the uneasy routines of the new one, strangers’ lives keep intersecting in ways they do not yet understand. Mackenzie Davis and Himesh Patel anchor a story about survival, memory, and what people try to carry forward after disaster.
