On his 21st birthday, Sam Oliver learns his parents promised his soul to the Devil before he was born. Instead of dragging him straight to Hell, the Devil puts Sam to work: whenever a damned soul escapes, Sam has to track it down and send it back. He still has his dead-end job, his crush, and two best friends who get pulled into his double life, so every hunt becomes a mess of ordinary problems and supernatural disasters. As Sam tries to understand why he was chosen and whether there is any way out of the deal, each escaped soul brings a new threat and another test from his boss below.
