Andy Millman spends his days at the edge of the frame, working as a background performer on TV sets, film shoots, and in the theatre while trying to turn anonymous gigs into a real acting career. Alongside his friend Maggie Jacobs, he scrambles through humiliating auditions, awkward set politics, and the small indignities that come with being invisible in an industry obsessed with status. Every job puts him near the success he wants and reminds him how far away it is. As Andy keeps pushing for a break, bad advice, bruised pride, and his own need to be taken seriously send him from bit-part frustration toward a very different kind of fame.
