The Boondocks

AnimationComedy22 min per episode

After moving to the mostly white suburb of Woodcrest, the Freeman family keeps running into the gap between how the town sees itself and what life there actually looks like. Brothers Huey and Riley read the world in very different ways, and their clashes at home spill into run-ins with neighbors, school, local politics, and whatever fresh public spectacle has everyone talking. Each episode turns everyday suburban life into a fight over race, class, image, and power, with celebrity culture and current events pulled into the crossfire. Created by Aaron McGruder from his comic strip, the series uses the Freemans’ new surroundings to sharpen its satire.
