The Assistant
Drama88 min
Jane is a junior assistant at a film production company, spending her day on coffee orders, travel bookings, and copy-room chores for a powerful executive. Julia Garner is Jane, moving through an office where every routine task exposes the hierarchy around her as she becomes increasingly aware of the abuse shaping the workplace. Matthew Macfadyen is the boss whose influence hangs over every department, whether he’s in the room or not. Over the course of a single workday, the film stays close to whispered conversations, closed doors, and the quiet ways a company protects the person at the top.
