Wristcutters: A Love Story
ComedyDramaFantasyRomance88 min
After a breakup, Zia (Patrick Fugit) takes his own life and wakes up in a drab afterlife reserved for people who did the same — a shabby mirror of the world he left behind. When he learns his ex may be there too, he heads out to find her, riding through this dead-end beyond with Eugene (Shea Whigham), a fast-talking companion with troubles of his own. Along the way they pick up Mikal, with Shannyn Sossamon giving the hitchhiker an offbeat, wounded calm. The afterlife here is all diners, dusty roads, and lousy jobs, turning a love story into a strange roadside detour.
