In Meiji-era Japan, a wandering swordsman who once killed for the revolution tries to live by a vow never to take another life. Kenshin Himura arrives in Tokyo carrying a reverse-blade sword and drifts into the dojo of Kaoru Kamiya, where he starts using his skill to protect people instead of serving violence. Peace never lasts for long. Street gangs, rival fighters, and enemies tied to Kenshin’s bloody past keep forcing him back into battle, while the new age around him is still full of old grudges and chaos. As he gathers allies and makes a place for himself, every fight tests whether a former assassin can truly leave that life behind.
