The Man in the Iron Mask

ActionAdventureDrama132 min

In 17th-century France, the old alliance of the Musketeers is broken until King Louis XIV’s cruelty drives Aramis to gather Athos and Porthos for one last conspiracy: free Louis’s hidden twin, Philippe, and put him on the throne. Leonardo DiCaprio takes the dual role of the vain young king and the prisoner kept behind an iron mask, while Gabriel Byrne’s D’Artagnan is caught between service to the crown and loyalty to his oldest friends. Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich, and Gérard Depardieu round out the aging swordsmen as palace intrigue, Bastille secrets, and swashbuckling revenge overtake the court.
