After seeing his neighborhood ice cream man murdered as a child, Gregory Tudor grows up to take over the route himself — and starts mixing human remains into the product. Clint Howard is Gregory, an unnervingly cheerful local fixture whose truck becomes the center of panic when a neighborhood boy disappears. As the kids in the area start comparing notes and poking around his shop, the movie turns the familiar suburban ice cream man image into something nastier, with splattery gags, lurid murders, and a scrappy neighborhood-kids investigation. Olivia Hussey and David Warner are among the adults circling Gregory’s increasingly suspicious business.
