Stress Positions
Comedy95 min
During quarantine in a Brooklyn brownstone, Terry Goon is trying to keep a tight bubble intact while caring for his 19-year-old nephew Bahlul, a Moroccan model laid up in a full leg cast after an electric scooter accident. The problem is that Terry’s sealed-off setup quickly turns porous as friends, relatives, and assorted acquaintances become fixated on the injured houseguest. John Early leads the film’s increasingly cramped social swirl, with Qaher Harhash and Theda Hammel among the faces circling Terry and Bahlul. The setup turns a locked-down apartment into a pressure cooker of vanity, intrusion, and anxious caretaking.
