The Duchess

DramaRomanceThriller110 min

Keira Knightley is Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, an 18th-century English aristocrat whose public celebrity and rising influence in Whig politics make her one of the most visible women in the country. Behind the gowns, parties, and attention, her marriage to Ralph Fiennes’s Duke of Devonshire is formal, strategic, and increasingly strained. As Georgiana pushes beyond the role of society figurehead, her political ambitions and personal life become matters of gossip, scrutiny, and control. The film follows her position at the center of late-1700s power, where status, loyalty, and reputation are bound tightly together.
