A string of separate sketch stories piles one outrageous premise on top of another, with each segment pushing a social situation past the point of sense. Dates, family dinners, school politics, celebrity image, and everyday awkwardness all turn into crude misunderstandings, public humiliation, and violent overreaction. The movie keeps resetting with a new setup, then watching it spiral into something meaner, stranger, or more absurd than it first appears. Hugh Jackman and Kate Winslet are among the many faces dropped into these short comic disasters, but the point is the collision of shock gags, parody, and bad behavior as one scenario after another falls apart.
